Mark A. Hughes is a premier home builder based out of Glenwood,
Iowa where he was born and raised. His parents are Jim and Monica
Hughes and they own and operate Jim Hughes Real Estate. He has four
siblings that are all involved in the Real Estate industry in Glenwood.
He got his start in the business when he identified an opportunity
to build homes in the area. Because Glenwood is located only 25 minutes
from Omaha, the small town experienced booming growth and he was
able to build the dreams of those living in the city looking for
a peaceful place to call home. He is a licensed real estate agent
as well as having his broker’s license. These qualifications
and drive have helped him to make his vision a reality. He built
his first spec home in 1993 and has since built approximately 350
homes in the Glenwood area. He has also expanded to include Missouri
Valley and Council Bluffs in his building ventures. With his strong
family roots in Glenwood and extensive communitee involvement he
is always looking to improve and support the areas growth.
He is now married to Jennifer and has three sons, Grant, Andrew
James, and Nathan. His boys range in age from 8 years old to 3 years
old. As you can imagine the boys love “helping” their
dad at work. Mark is not only building homes these days he is also
building characters and futures for his three amazing sons. He is
their soccer coach and their biggest fan, a title he gladly shares
with his wife.
When not at work or chasing the boys around he does have some hobbies
he enjoys. He loves to hunt, pheasant hunting is his favorite but
he won’t turn down an opportunity to take aim. He also enjoys
fishing, golf, and boating. He loves being outside with nature.
Over the past twelve years he has built a successful construction company
that he takes great pride in. He has a great group of people he gets
to work with everyday. They work together as a team to build beautiful
homes and businesses. His work has been recognized in a number of local
as well as national publications. Pictures of his homes have graced
the covers of magazines. All of these accomplishments are flattering
but he takes the greatest pride in the relationships he has made over
the years with his home owners.
